Summary: This story is basically the story of a girl named Erika as she struggles to survive in a land of magic while trying to discover who a man who has been chasing her forever is. -The reasoning behind the title will be reveled throughout the story.

	1. Chapter 1: Run

Gasping for breath, I continued running. Ignoring the sharp branches slapping against my face, I sprinted as I had never sprinted before. My legs were a blur, my long hair a mere flash of brown in the emerald green forest. My bare feet pressed against the ground as I strained to take one more step, then another. My lungs burned. I felt as if I would collapse and die right on the spot. I looked back, and kept running, He was still there. It was the tall, light-haired man who had been looking for me. The one who had been looking for me for years. "He will never catch me." I told myself, "He will never, ever catch me." I continued running, I continued flying through the woods. But then, I felt myself fall slowly. I felt my body land on the leaf packed soil. My head hit something, and the last thing I saw before my vision went black was a blur of pure, shining white light above my head.

Who is she running from? Next week, maybe we'll find out!

	2. Chapter 2: Erika

When I awoke, my eyes saw an unfamiliar site. As I looked around, I didn't recognize where I was. My body was on a bed of soft, sweet smelling moss. My waist and legs had a blanket of pink roses draped over them, and my hair had been brushed free of the branches and thorns. I pulled myself up, letting my soft, silky hair drape over my shoulders. Gasping, I fell back as an unbearable pain spread through my legs. A soft, musical voice entered my ears,

"I wouldn't sit up if I were you." Turning my head, I gasped as I saw the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. She had been standing silently in the corner, waist-long wavy blonde hair hidden beneath a sapphire blue cloak. The hood hid her eyes, but as her fair, delicate hands removed it, I saw her sparkling, emerald green eyes. Every feature on her face was perfect, her soft pink lips, her small nose. She glided towards me and bent down, a laughing smile on her lips.

"Who are you?" I asked, wondering who this beautiful stranger was.

"I'm…" she hesitated, then told me, "I'm Erika, a ruler of Alcina. And who are you?"

"I'm Almira." Suddenly, the past events flooded my head. The man, the fall, the white light. "What happened out there?" I asked Erika, who was now kneeling beside me. Her face turned pale, then returned to its normal color,

"I should be asking you that question." She told me.

"It's a long story." I said seriously. She looked at me, long and hard.

"I have time." I believed her, and began my story.
